The goal of the NDNGEA is to foster and improve the Army & Air National Guard
by promoting and encouraging friendly and social relations among all members
and retirees of the NDNG. It also promotes and fosters educational and
beneficial programs for the enhancement of all members of the NDNG. It
promotes and advances the status, welfare, and professionalism of the
Enlisted Member of the North Dakota National Guard. We are Non-Profit and do
not discriminate against any person based on color, race, religion, sex or
national origin. We sponsor a competitive Life Insurance program. We receive
proceeds from this Insurance program to benefit members of the NDNG, the
retirees and their families. We, along with the NDNG Auxiliary, offer two
Scholarships each year; one to a member that is in the NDNG, and the other to
a dependent of a NDNG member. The numbers and amounts of the scholarships may
change, but the last two years have been $1,000 each.
As our membership Poster states "We are the
only Association that has two things in common with YOU.
1. National Guard 2. Enlisted
I think that statement says it all, and it's the reason
we all should be involved and support it by becoming a member. The question
is "Why should I join? What has it done for me? How can I benefit? I've
listed a few, but not all, of the things that the North Dakota Legislature
has done or been part of for us:
1. Education Scholarships, tuition waivers or
reimbursement.
2. State income tax advantages (if qualified)
3. Group Life Insurance
4. Distinctive license plates
5. State bonus for Combat Zone Service
6. Monetary award for enlistment referrals
7. Interest free emergency loans
8. Built and maintains a Long Term Care facility in Lisbon
9. Reduced or free hunting/fishing licenses (if qualified)
10. Burial rights at State Cemeteries
